About Mrs. Beecher:
My name is Laurel Beecher and I'm very excited about this year! I graduated at Southern Utah University with English as a Second Language emphasis in 2012. I've wanted to teach as for as long as I can remember! I grew up in Salt Lake and have been married to my wonderful husband for a couple years now. In Spring 2018 I achieved my Masters in Education from Southern Utah University.
I love to read good books, sing, play piano/flute, draw, go hiking, dancing, running, video games (yes I know- mostly Super Mario games) and spending time with my family and just have fun making memories. I do love Laffy Taffy, Twix, Milky Way, and 100 Grand candys.
My motto is Bee the best you can Bee! I thought it was fitting for Mrs. "Bee"cher's classroom. But I really do want my students to always strive to do their best in everything they do.
My Teaching Methods:
In my classroom I believe that understanding how children learn and develop, can provide learning opportunities that support their intellectual, social, and personal development. To help my students with communication skills, I will use knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal and media communication techniques to increase supportive interaction in the classroom.
Everyone learns differently, so I use a variety of instruction strategies to encourage student's development or critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. I believe to foster relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support all students’ learning.
In my classroom, I try to promote a safe, welcoming, engaging, educational learning environment so my students and parents will know it's a secure place to learn and grow in.
